A man who was found guilty of sexually assaulting a teenage girl at Heritage Park in east Bakersfield has been sentenced to 12 years in Wasco State Prison.

Thirty-year-old Kenneth Garvin covered the girl’s mouth and tried to strangle her during the attack in October 2014. He was charged after the victim picked him out of a police lineup and his DNA was matched to that found on her.
