SUPERVISORS DECLARE APRIL CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH

Supervisors have declared April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Kern County.

Dina Murphy from the Department of Human Services told the board Tuesday that most victims are too young for school and the abuse often goes unreported.

A series of events are planned this month, including a Child Abuse Prevention forum April 21st and a memorial flag raising April 29th. Churches will observe Blue Sunday on April 24th, a day of prayer for the young victims.
