Former Sheriff’s deputy Edward Tucker, who was captured in Oildale after escaping from a locked patrol car at the Bakersfield jail, has been sentenced to one year in a drug rehabilitation program and three years probation.
Tucker had pleaded no contest to three charges including pointing a gun at two girls while high on meth last October, and Defense attorney Kyle Humphrey says Thursday’s decision is the right one. He also got credit for spending almost a year in jail.
Tucker was on a leave of absence for injuries when he was arrested three times in one week.
