A claim has been filed against the Delano Joint Union High School District following the arrest of a staff member for an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old girl.

Attorney Daniel Rodriguez told KUZZ News the action was filed Monday because the district should have known better. A claim is a precursor to a lawsuit.

A district news release defends the screening of employees, noting Bobby Perigo was never charged in reported incidents with two girls in 2009.
