The Bakersfield Fire Department had to rescue a 40-year-old woman from the Panorama Bluffs after she hurt her ankle while exercising.

Firefighters lifted the victim off a side trail after 10:15 Monday morning, but Captain Mike Lencioni says recent storms have made the park more dangerous. Lencioni also thinks rescues in the area are becoming more common because people are not fully paying attention to where they’re going.

The woman was taken to a local hospital.
