TWENTY-ONE UNLICENSED CONTRACTORS CAUGHT IN STING

Twenty-one unlicensed contractors in Kern County are facing misdemeanor charges after getting caught in a statewide sting operation.

Investigators posed as customers in a rented house to catch the contractors last week, and Licensing Board spokesman Steve Breen says operations like this are important because some of those people are dangerous. Breen says they caught convicted murderers and pedophiles.

Those caught up in the sting locally were independent contractors. Bakersfield had the most arrests of any city in California.
