BAKERSFIELD UFW RALLIES FOR DACA AND DAPA

Members of the United Farm Workers held a rally at their office in Bakersfield, urging the Supreme Court to uphold President Obama’s executive orders on immigration. The orders called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA) let people without a criminal record stay in the United States.

Arvin City Councilman Jose Gurrola came out because he said many in his district need protections.

The rally was one of several the UFW held across the state on Monday, as a larger gathering happened in front of the Supreme Court.
