The Bakersfield Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is looking forward to rescuing more dogs and cats after getting a new van with animal-friendly upgrades. Shortly after taking the keys last week members headed to the City of Bakersfield Animal Care Center and picked up 47 furry friends.

The group got the ride through a grant from the national ASPCA and a donation from a local car dealership.
