A man was shot dead in an apartment on Water Street in east Bakersfield. The shooting happened just before 1 PM Thursday and – at the time of this posting – no suspects had been named and the victim’s identity had not been confirmed. Sheriff’s investigators were able to locate people who were in the area but did not say if they were able to find witnesses who could identify the shooter.
