A Delano police officer has been cleared in last summer’s fatal shooting of a fleeing suspect. A District Attorney review found Officer Michael Strand was justified in the shooting death of Lorenzo Garza, Junior after the suspect lead officers on a car chase. Garza was suspected of firing a gun into a house just prior to the pursuit.
