The state Transportation Commission Friday recommended major funding cuts for improvement projects. The cuts would be necessary because of a big drop in gas tax revenues. Program cuts total $1-point-5 Billion statewide including more than $22 million in Kern County transportation projects. The commission is calling for bi-partisan support in Sacramento to pass a comprehensive funding plan.
