Police are on the scene of a stabbing in east Bakersfield where a man was slashed in the neck by another person.

BPD Sgt. Eric Shimon tells KGET TV the victim managed to make it to the 76 gas station on Flower Street near Beale Avenue Wednesday morning before collapsing around 4:00. Witnesses helped police identify a suspect who is now in custody, but the motive for the incident is unclear. The victim is in stable condition.
