The annual shoe drive to help the Bakersfield Homeless Center has kicked off at Guarantee Shoe Center on Chester Avenue downtown.

Organizers are looking for new or gently used shoes for school age kids and parents who need shoes for work. More than 65,000 shoes have been donated in the 24 years of the event.
