The coroner’s office says the couple who were killed in their northwest Bakersfield home on Lili Pad Court were Christopher and Kim Higginbotham, both age 48. An autopsy is planned to determine how they died, but their 29-year-old son, Derek Connell, is being held without bail. Neighbors say he’d recently started living with his parents. Police took Connell in for questioning as he left the home early Saturday and arrested him for the killings on Sunday. He’s due in court Tuesday. There are no other details as to what may have happened.
