CHP OFFICERS SPRING INTO ACTION

Two Fort Tejon CHP officers who were on routine patrol quickly jumped into action when they spotted flames in the distance.

It turned out to be a burning car that had crashed on westbound SR 166 and Freeway 99 just before midnight on Tuesday, and Officer Ryan Love tells KGET-TV he and his partner, Officer Adrian Vega, found a woman trapped inside. Officer Vega pulled the woman to safety while Officer Love used his fire extinguisher on the burning car.

The woman was airlifted to a hospital but a man was also found dead on the ground, apparently from being ejected.
