A man was able to avoid being shot at a home on P Street in central Bakersfield after someone got out of a car and opened fire.

That incident Tuesday afternoon was just half a block from last week’s murder scene in Lowell Park, although police don’t know if the shooting is related. A small, white compact car with four people inside was seen leaving the area.
