The Kern Minority Contractors Association has started a series of workshops to train people to work on the High Speed Rail project.

The KMCA says many former oil workers as well as those looking for positions will transition to skilled government jobs. All levels are welcome. and the Association says the goal of the workshops is to make sure local people fill jobs on the Bakersfield part of the line.

The Rail Authority recently voted to run their route along Golden State Avenue with a station at F Street with an opening in 2025 once the plan is approved.
