Big crowds enjoyed warm weather and great food at the annual Cal State Bakersfield spring barbecue athletic scholarship fundraiser.

The festival was started 44 years ago by former Athletic Director Rudy Carvajal, who attended Thursday’s event. Members of the Roadrunners basketball team that played in the NCAA tournament were at the barbecue showing off their first-ever Division I Western Athletic Conference trophy.
