It’s National Law Enforcement Week and Thursday’s events focus is on remembering those who died in the line of duty. Ceremonies to honor the fallen are being held at the headquarters of Bakersfield Police at 7:00 AM, the Sheriff’s Office at 10:00 and a public memorial at the Liberty Bell in front of the Courthouse at Noon. In the evening, the Downtown Association’s Third Thursday will have a law enforcement theme including a business window decorating contest and a dunk tank with city council members participating.
