A 25-year-old man spent the night in his crashed car. Kern County Fire helped hoist an injured man from his Honda Civic that had plunged 300 feet down Mount Pinos sometime Wednesday before rescuers were able to locate him about 12 hours later. Family called authorities who used the “find my phone” feature on the victim’s smart phone to locate the vehicle. A Ventura County Sheriff’s helicopter hoisted the man to safety and took him to Ventura Medical Center where he’s expected to recover. The car was not able to be pulled out at last report.
