The two year wait is over for Bakersfield spray parks. Seven of the city’s nine spray parks are set to be in operation starting this weekend and will be open daily from 1:00 to 5:00 PM after the city council approved a request by Recreation and Parks to turn on the taps again. The parks are free and two of them, Wayside and Planz, will have to wait to open because they fell into disrepair during their two years out of service. The parks are also water efficient as they only operate when someone is there and they drain into the water table.
