A 22-year-old Oildale man who was hit by a car as he rode across Roberts Lane on a skateboard in the dark is in the hospital with major head injuries.

The CHP says Angel Rodriguez was outside the crosswalk near McArthur Drive when he was struck by a woman in a Chevy Colbalt who stopped to call for help. There’s no evidence that speed, drugs, or alcohol were factors in the accident.
