The chief of police for the Kern High School District has been placed on paid administrative leave.The district is not saying why the move was made. KHSD said Thursday Chief Joe Lopeteguy was put on leave May 13th and Lieutenant Jerald Wyatt has been named acting chief. Lopeteguy has worked with the district 8 years and became chief last October and is a native of Kern Country having worked as a wrestling coach at Shafter High School.
