A bicyclist was killed when she was hit at the intersection of Owens Street and Niles Street. The accident happened Monday night around 7:20 as the woman was riding in the middle of the roadway. Bakersfield Police say the car driver slammed on the brakes and hit two parked cars after the collision, but drugs, alcohol or excessive speed don’t appear to be factors.
