A busy intersection in Delano will be closed most of the day Thursday after a speeding driver crashed into a power pole and left it dangling by the wires.

The CHP says it happened around 9:45 Wednesday night on Cecil Avenue and Driver Road, and that the man who caused the crash has major head injuries.
