SOME ERSKINE FIRE EVACUEES RETURN HOME

Some Erskine Fire evacuees have been let back into their neighborhoods, but others will have to wait a little longer before they can come home.

Many who live in Yankee Canyon, Mountain Mesa, and communities east of South Lake were allowed see if their houses were still standing at noon on Tuesday, but Fire Chief Brian Marshall says most areas still have safety hazards like ash and chemicals that need to be cleaned up before people can be allowed back in.

A transition center has been set up at Woodrow Wallace Elementary School in Lake Isabella to help people get emergency services. Evacuees can also call the Emergency Operations Center at 661-873-2660 to check if their evacuation order has been lifted.
