SETTLEMENT REACHED IN CHICKEN SUIT CASE

The Kern High School District has reached a multi-million dollar settlement with a former Bakersfield High student hurt during a pep rally.

Mitch Carter was dressed like a chicken to mock the opposing team’s mascot when he says 30 football players piled on top of him, causing traumatic brain damage and a pituitary gland injury. He says the $10.5 million award will pay for future and past medical expenses.

Carter claims he must take human growth hormones for the rest of his life. His attorneys originally sought $45 million.
