BAKO MAN SENTENCED IN HOOKER DEATH

A Bakersfield man convicted of first degree murder for strangling a prostitute in 2014 has been sentenced to 25-years to life in prison.

Prosecutors say Ruben Castro dumped the body of Andrea Russell in an abandoned house and removed evidence from the scene of the crime, while he claims her death was an accident.

Castro friend Daniel Norzagaray was sentenced to a year in jail last month after pleading no contest to helping him hide the body. Castro plans on appealing.
