State officials warn fire victims about unlicensed contractors.The California Department of Insurance and the Contractors State License Board were putting up warning signs around burned out neighborhoods from the Erskine Fire. They posted two kinds of signs, one to warn property owners and the other to warn unlicensed contractors. Those who lost home should make sure contractors to rebuild or repair homes have current, valid state licenses. Those who are unlicensed will see the signs pointing out that violating contractors laws in a declared disaster area is a felony and not work making a few bucks for unqualified repairs.
