Local firefighters are asking residents to report illegal fireworks in their neighborhood to cut down on the number of injuries and home fires. People who spot or suspect illegal fireworks can call the Kern County Fire Department Hotline at 661-868-6070 until early Tuesday morning.

Fireworks that whistle, spin or fly are illegal even if they have the California “Safe and Sane” label.
