Houchin Community Blood Bank is issuing an urgent call.The need is for type O blood because of a nationwide shortage. They say summer donations are down and concerns about the Zika virus is causing many who would give to be deferred. Donation centers on Truxtun Avenue and Bolthouse Drive will be open 8:00 AM until 2:00 on Saturday.
