The Kern County Fire Department issued their final Fourth of July Fireworks report.The Fireworks Taskforce statistics showing more than 1,200 calls handled by their hotline. Friday’s report said county patrols issued 52 citations, made three arrests and collected 300 pounds of fireworks. They noted that none of the $1,500 citations went to repeat offenders. Bakersfield city patrols had issued 81 citations. On the positive side, Kern County was able to collect $33,800 in permit fees from legal fireworks stands.
