COUNTY LAUNCHES APP FOR HEART ATTACK VICTIMS

Kern County Public Health and several local fire departments have launched a new smart phone app to help heart attack victims. PulsePoint alerts users when someone within a quarter-mile of where they are calls 9-1-1 needing CPR.

The service costs the county $18,000 a year but is free to the public to download on Androids and iPhones.
