The death of a farm worker is being investigated by the coroner and by CalOSHA.The death is being considered as possibly heat-related. A 60-year-old woman died last Tuesday after harvesting grapes near Bakersfield. Neither office is yet saying it was heat that caused the death but the United Farm Workers says it was one of what they believed to be three such deaths in the area last week. All three were women working in the heat and all became ill on the job according to the UFW. They plan to discuss the matter with the media Tuesday in Bakersfield.
