NEW HQ FOR USFS IN KERNVILLE

A new administration office and warehouse are coming to Kernville. The Army Corps of Engineers has awarded an $8.5 million contract to a Santa Ana company to relocate the U.S. Forest Service offices and warehouse from Lake Isabella to Kernville. Construction should be complete late next year as the current location is where a new spillway is to be built in the seismic retrofitting of Lake Isabella Dam. The Corps announced in June a $7.75 million contract to the same company to relocate the Forest Service fire station.
