Cal State Bakersfield is looking to upgrade their athletic facilities.The firm of Gensler Architects have been hired to produce an athletic facilities master plan that would transform the sports department to meet Division 1 standards. Athletic Director Ziggy Siegfried says they should have blueprints in hand in December for facilities such as training and weight rooms, sports medicine and education facilities for athletes. The cost of the upgrades will hopefully be paid by private donations and sponsorships and that’s why having the presentation in hand is important, as something to show those who may back the plans. Construction could take three to five years.
