The man killed in a shootout with police has been identified as 37-year-old Francisco Villareal of Bakersfield. He died early Thursday after leading police on a foot chase exchanging shots with officers until it ended at a housing complex on McNew Court in south Bakersfield. Villareal is said to have been in a car that lead police on a pursuit. Two Bakersfield residents are in custody after the shooting. 36-year-old Marisol Lopez is accused of leading police on a car chase Wednesday night that ended on Feliz Drive and one of her passengers, 43-year-old Nick Valenzuela, was arrested for battery on a police officer.
