The man killed by police in south Bakersfield was being sought for a shooting from the previous day. 27-year-old Francisco Villareal was a suspect in the Wednesday morning shooting of a man who tried to intervene in an argument at Dolores and Baker Streets. That victim is recovering. Police say Villareal traded shots with officers after a car chase and traffic stop early Thursday. They have not indicated if the woman he was arguing with was among the two in the car that was stopped.
