FARM OVERTIME DELAYED

A bill to count overtime hours on farms the same as in other industries has failed to get a vote in the State Assembly. The author did not bring the measure to the floor Thursday but United Farm Workers officials are hoping it will be voted on Monday. Valley Assembly members Andy Vidak and Shannon Grove are opposed saying it would be a hardship for the ag industry. The measure would require overtime be paid after 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
