SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR VISITS KERN COUNTY

A high ranking member of the Obama Administration was on hand to mark the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service at the Cesar Chavez National Monument in Keene. Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell toured the facility with Chavez’s son, Paul, but says her real goal is to make the parks more welcoming to minority visitors.

Jewell is campaigning for more national monuments to be designated for minorities and other underrepresented groups.
