WIND COMING TO CEDAR FIRE

Firefighters have been getting the upper hand on the Cedar Fire but the coming days are expected to make the difference. The U.S. Forest Service says growth of the wildfire near Kernville and Wofford Heights has been slowing down but all that could change soon. Fire commanders believe they might be able to re-open the Sequoia National Forest for the Labor Day weekend if the fire isn’t kicked up by winds and they can hold containment which is currently at 45 percent. Winds are expected to increase Wednesday. The fire has burned more than 27 thousand acres and has cost nearly $40 million to fight.
