A fire at a four-plex on Soranno Avenue near Ming Avenue in south Bakersfield has left three families without homes. The fire happened around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon and city fire crews were able to quickly put it out but not before three units were uninhabitable. The cause is under investigation and the damage estimate is not yet known.
