A Kern County Fire rescue team was not needed to help a man knocked unconscious in an east Bakersfield tank trailer. The man was hurt around 8:00 Monday morning at a business on Mt. Vernon Avenue and Texas Street when falling equipment hit him in the head, but he was able to wake up and climb out.

Fire engineer Phil Neufeld [new-feld] says these accidents are uncommon but not surprising because the inside of tanks can be dark or slippery.

Firefighters are investigating and CAL-OSHA may as well.
