A man who pleaded no contest to threatening and beating his former girlfriend has been sentenced.The ex-boyfriend will spend more than four years behind bars. Prosecutors say Gilberto Gutierrez broke into her Taft home in March and took her to a motel and then an orchard, where he sexually assaulted her. His lawyer says the victim made up the allegations to get a Green Card because assault victims can be given special dispensation.
