Gov. Brown has signed a bill that extends the amount of time people affected by a disaster have to pay their state taxes. The measure was inspired by the Erskine Fire and allows the State Board of Equalization to delay tax due dates by three months if they determine the situation is warranted. The law provided for only a one-month extension until now. The new rules are immediately in effect.
