The director of the Ebony Counseling Center is retiring after 26 years at the drug rehabilitation agency. The departure of Former Bakersfield City Councilwoman Irma Carson is leading the non-profit to be merged into Clinica Sierra Vista rather than find a new leader. The agency is funded by Kern County Mental Health. Carson served on the council for 16 years and had been a Bakersfield police detective.
