The Smarter Lunchroom Movement is coming to a couple of Kern County schools in the form of a state grant. About $14,000 will be used to rework the cafeterias at Blanton Academy in downtown Bakersfield and Buttonwillow Elementary.

The program steers students towards healthier eating choices and provides more fruits and vegetables on the menus.
