The man shot by Shafter police at the Fastrip gas station on East Lerdo Highway has been identified.Court filings identify the suspect as 44 year old Oscar Ponce of Bakersfield. He’s due in superior court in Shafter Friday on felony charges after he allegedly sped towards officers in a stolen SUV early Wednesday. Police fired on the vehicle and hit Ponce once in the hand before he jumped out. Cops had responded to a man washing himself with a windshield squeegee.
