BAKO POLICE RESPONSE IMPROVES

The Bakersfield City Council has heard a progress report on the recommendations given to the police department two years ago with the aim of improving response times.

Chief Greg Williamson told the council Wednesday night that they’ve been able to get top priority responses down to five or six minutes from 12. The city spent $2.3 million to hire a law enforcement consultant who made 34 recommendations, and Williamson says 28 of those have been implemented.
