UNDERAGE DRINKERS DROP AT THE FAIR

Twenty-three people were cited for alcohol violations by undercover officers during the Kern County Fair, which is less than half of what officers expected.

The Sheriff’s office and Bakersfield police reported Tuesday that 18 minors were cited along with five adults. Those adults were mostly vendors who got in trouble for providing alcohol to underage fairgoers. Officers were expecting to cite about 50 people this year.

A state grant paid for the enforcement.
